Former Minister of Youth and Sports development, Barrister Solomon Dalung recently admonished Nigerians on rebuilding Peace and fostering unity in the Nation.

During Durban and Coronation Day Dalung educated Nigerians on a most important subject geared towards nation Building.

While introducing his topic the Lawyer and politician said that Unity is a vital tool for every nation to grow.

Dalung posited that Unity is a famous ingredient for every successful recipe. Be it strengthening family bonds, winning games, or experiencing mere miracles of friendship, unity plays an important role in achieving everything that is positive.

Using Plateau State as a good example, Dalung explained it’s complexities and its composition and called on Nigerians to express the potisivism and reality in Unity building despite our diverse origins, history, culture and ethnicity. He said that sense of unity has not become a real reality therefore fostering unity in Nigeria and any other State of the country should be a key feature for a country such as Nigeria, which has a rich ethnic and tribal diversity. Accord, acceptance and understanding are necessary to counter conflictual division. Every so often, the unity of Nigerians is tested by the very diversity that defines us. Rebuilding trust among citizens is the basic way to achieve unity.

The immediate past Minister of Sports said that Promoting national unity is the work of citizens in the country, the government and individual should be involved in the means of Promoting national unity.

While giving his conclusion and remedies, Dalung said that
rebuilding trust and fostering unity occurs when all members of the society join hands together to make a balanced, harmonious, complete whole and forgive one another of the mistakes occurred in the past.

He insisted that education has a central role to play as far as empowering our youth for national development is concerned. Government must invest heavily in education development and provide entrepreneurial education has become necessary in all our manpower development efforts in Nigeria principally because few new employments are being created by government departments and private organizations for the employable graduates from our secondary and tertiary educational institutions.

Barrister Dalung called on Nigerians to center more on creativity. He said that there is a growing need for creativity in the modern day society. That the society is characterized by complexity and interdependence, technological and communications advances. Rising expectations certainly call for increased levels of creativity.

Dalung was a lecturer in the famous University of Jos where he served for years before he was appointed Minister of youth and sports development in 2015. He is an active member of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) at the state and National level. One amongst his several achievements as minister of youths and sports was the Democratization of the sports sector which is still very much celebrated in the sporting family today.
