Barrister Solomon Dalung the immediate past Minister of youth and Sports Development has showered Birthday Prayers and congratulatory message on former Nigerian Head of States, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd) on his 85th Birthday Celebration.

Dalung has always showed passionate love and respect and and respect to the Plateau State born General; a respected Elder Statesman who served Nigeria diligently as Military Head of State in 1966. Dalung applauds His track record of leadership that has reflected positively on the Nigerian society with radiant impact to show. He expressed that indeed General Gowon is a legendary example of credible leadership to Nigerians

“General Yakubu Gowon remains a superfluous symbol of unity in Nigeria due to his meritorious services to the nation and today I congratulates and celebrate my elder Statesman who always mean well for Plateau people and Nigerians at large even at his retirement.” Said Dalung

The contributions of General Yakubu Gowon is an interesting voyage into the Odyssey of an epic front liner and czar of leadership style in Nigeria. He became the Military Head of State of Nigeria after the death of former Military Head of State, General J. T. U. Aguiyi Ironsi. On May 27, 1966, General Gowon divided the four regions of Nigeria into twelve States and declared a State of emergency in a final attempt to resolve the ethnic tensions in the land.

The academic track record of General Gowon bears similar coloration and trajectory with his stunning and no doubt, stellar, psychedelic and distinctive scholastic exploits, given that he bags a PhD in Political Science at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom.

“On this special day, I congratulate a rare breed and personae, a straddling colossus and exemplary of uncommon national figure grits and fiber, a man who joins a befuddled algorithm of political epistemology and conquests for the peace building and unity of one Nigeria.

I pray that may God Almighty continue to prolong his pithy life with sound health for the betterment of our country. Dalung prayed!
